My Story
I spent 18 years in the corporate world of advertising and broadcast doing a variety of marketing, research and sales positions helping large and small business owners with sales and marketing strategies. I fell into marketing (I needed to supplement my race track job!) after graduating university with a sociology degree - but I quickly grew to love it.
Everything about marketing excited me, the planning and strategizing about the best fit for the client, the creative brainstorming about the message being delivered, and the implementation phase where you could see the marketing working, driving people and money in through the client's doors!
I especially liked seeing the faces of the people I helped, light up when they "got it" - when they really understood the what, why, when and how of connecting with their customers via their marketing strategies. Their confidence and delight gave me tons of satisfaction and a feeling of really contributing something worthwhile to their lives and their business.
As I moved up the ladder into executive management roles though, I moved farther away from working "hands-on" with the clients. As a result, I started feeling unfulfilled and restless, and I wasn't getting any emotional satisfaction from my job.
Longing for a career that would satisfy my deep desire to make a difference, I decided to pursue my life-long interest in law, hoping to work with disadvantaged women and children. Being accepted into a highly regarded law school was thrilling but it took me only two months to realize it would take several years of working ridiculous long hours, before I was even close to being able to practice the law I wanted.
It became clear that I wasn't quite on the right career path yet. So, I quit law school.
It was a pretty scary time in my life, I felt adrift, like a failure and really unsure about what direction I wanted to take. On top of everything, I was also in debt and the creditors were starting to call.
I took several deep breaths, started looking around and decided to check out working on my own as a professional organizer. I attended several organizer association meetings and also visited the online forum many times.
Then a funny thing happened. I began to notice a pattern emerge during the meetings - they were all struggling with the same issue of marketing strategies for their business!
These were bright, intelligent people - most with no previous experience in marketing though, and it was really impacting their ability to succeed in their businesses.
I experienced an Ah-Ha moment! I finally figured out what I was meant to do � help small business owners, like you, to market. In this way, I can blend my marketing and advertising experience, something I love and am good at, with my firm desire to help others succeed.
I feel very strongly that I have a message to share with entrepreneurs like yourself: that marketing is something you can do, do it well, and use it to achieve the life and business you desire!

When Im not busy happily helping an entrepreneur such as yourself, I like to enjoy myself by taking walks along the river with my sweetie, Rick, where I stop to say hello to every dog we meet. Or I like cuddling up with my two cats and reading a book, while eating Lindt chocolate-covered almonds verrrrrrry slowly! I'm also blessed to live in a beautiful city that allows me to ski in the winter and ocean kayak in the summer.
